Hanging Bells

Grade Level: TK-8th grade

Length: 

Day 1--45 minutes to make bells

Day 2 [OPTIONAL]--60 minutes to glaze bells

Goals: Students will learn basic pinch and coil method of building functional pottery

Project Variation/Modification Ideas:

Students can make pots that

• celebrate cultural holidays

• celebrate the individual identities of students

• are gifts for loved ones

• explore color, shape, and / or texture

• parallel, enhance, and diversify teachers' curriculum in the subjects of social science, history, art, literature

  *With the help of their teachers, students will string, knot, and tie their own bells after Clay Day delivers them to the classroom site.
